BMW dealership will be introducing to the public the series of their 2017 diesel models. Let us get to know the upcoming vehicles and why it could be their flagship vehicles.

Car and Driver reported that the German luxury automaker will unleash four of its U.S. models that passed the EPA and CARB testing and certification for the 2017. The four of them are the 328d sedan and Sports Wagon, the X3 xDrive28d, and the X5 xDrive35d.

"The vehicles will be going into production at our manufacturing plants and are expected to be available at showrooms later this year," a BMW spokesman told the site. However, there must be one problem regarding the BMW 2017 diesel models.

According to the website, the VW diesel cheating scandal might affect the sales of the upcoming diesel model series. BMW has not given any further comments or details about their upcoming vehicles.

Prior to that, Automotive News reported that EPA and CARB granted the car company after extensive testing. This caused a minor delay for the announcement.

Chris Grundler, head of the EPA's Office of Transportation and Air Quality said that "We tested the vehicles every which way from Sunday." Furthermore, the added that they "asked for more data from the company."

The company ensures that all the dealership should undergo the rigorous test after finding out the VW diesel cheat fiasco. The latter might face criminal charges because of the scandal, according to a previous report.

So far, BMW has stated that they will not sell a diesel in the U.S. version of its 7-series, which was overhauled in 2015.
