Volkswagen is all set to walk into the EV market, although it is still coping up with the diesel emissions scandal. The German automaker has planned to release 30 new EVs by 2025 and will start the journey with Paris Motor Show.

According to Electrek, VW CEO Herbert Diess announced the news Wirtschafts Woche, a German magazine. Diess has mentioned that the batteries of new vehicles can cover 400 to 600 kilometers (248 to 372 miles) per charge.

Thus, with these specs, the Paris Motor Show will definitely be a platform for prototype presentation for Volkswagen's basic EV creation. It has been speculated that Volkswagen models will be the size of a Golf, but have the cargo space of a Passat.

The latest EV prototypes of the market will be hitting the market on 2018 or 2019, and if Volkswagen is preparing  a production, it has to officially start now. However, a lot has changed in the last couple of months and it has been speculated that the number of automobiles for production has been raised from 20 to 30 by 2025.

Meanwhile, Volkswagen's efforts and announcements to release a high potential EV model a year after its diesel emission scandal show VW's efforts. It is to be noted that the executives are trying to show how the company has changed to environment-friendly products.

In other news, Volkswagen has been rumored to build  a "multi - billion euro battery factory". The battery cell supply chain is close to the number one priority of any automaker looking to manufacture electric vehicles in high volume. 

Although even Tesla has ventured into the EV market, yet they are yet to delve deeper into the battery cell supply chain with their own initiatives. Thus, with the proposed battery cell supply chain, Volkswagen could truly be back on the track again, and rule the EV market by end of the decade.
