Electric Car 'Insufficient Power Theory' Proven False

Range anxiety has been proven to be a problem for most electric car makers. However, a new study says that it is the other way around.

The electric cars that are roaming today's streets have a justifiable range for the 87 per cent of American drivers and is functioning to have sufficient power for an overnight charging. As of now, electric cars still need to undergo a series of improvements as it needs to be equipped for long-range travel, as well as improving the speed at which is charges, making it comparable to the fuel gas stations of today.

The study conducted by researchers needs to understand as to why most people think that electric cars that are out in the market today are really not good enough substitutes for the traditional cars that are on the roads. The most common thought is that a battery will quickly exhaust all of its power before one reaches the destination.

It is found out that electric vehicles are a good substitute to traditional vehicles inside America, putting down the factors like climate, topography, and size of the vehicle. Electric vehicles can function in a productive sense in most US cities like New York, Phoenix, and Houston.

The next goal of the team is to develop a practical tool that can be used by a consumer to weigh the pros and cons of having an electric vehicle, as well as knowing if the ownership of having one is a worthy contender than to have a traditional vehicle.

One thing is for sure, and that technology is undeniable changing. It is very possible that over the course of the next few years, electric vehicle technology would drastically change and improve, making ways for them to really be seen as likely substitutes to the gas churning vehicles that prowl our highways.
