Almost everyone are crazy about Niantic's augmented reality mobile game, Pokemon GO after its launch last month. However, some of the aspiring masters have gone overboard. Authorities in Toronto caught a driver playing the game behind the wheel.

The Canadian police even released a helicopter to monitor a car driving suspiciously at 3 AM. One of their choppers spotted the erratic driver and followed.

As seen on the video, the car was stopping on a street without any reason. It also had a stop by the park then someone went out of the vehicle.

Unbeknownst to the police, the man driving the vehicle was trying to capture the pocket monsters. They thought that the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol.

A cop invited the person for a little chat, and that was when they found out that the driver was playing Pokemon GO. According to Digital Trends, the police was trying to talk to the person but the distracted driver said: "Just hang on a minute, I really need to catch this Pokémon."

Fortunately, the driver only received a "stern warning" from the authority. Obviously, the individual is one of the Pokemon GO players who want to "catch 'em all."

The YouTube video reminded that public the hazards of playing the free-to-play mobile game while driving. Here are some excerpts from the Official YRP YouTube channel:

"York Regional Police would like to remind members of the public and players that any distraction while driving or walking on or near roadways, can be hazardous. Citizens are urged to be aware of their surroundings and that large groups of people gathering in areas across our region could be Pokemon GO players."

May this event also serves as a reminder to all the players to be mindful of their actions while focused on the game. Kindly check the pedestrian if the coast is clear before attempting to catch Pikachu, Bulbasaur, or Charmander.
