France Supports Self Driving Cars On its Streets

The new movement is a direct result of the New Industrial France initiative, whose mission is to improve the industrial and manufacturing industry of the country. This activity is seen by the government as a public safety measure as it tests out self-driving cars as it searches for glitches where it needs improvement to improve safety.

Based on the statistics publicized by the World Health Organization, there were more 3,268 deaths due to road accidents in 2013.

KPMG forecasts that self-driving cars will be capable of preventing 150 deaths every year starting in 2020. France is also seeing this as a way to solve the problems of drivers that are unfit to drive, just like the ones who are exhausted, emotionally unstable, or intoxicated.

Self-driving cars are already on the streets of France. The PSA Group has already tested out some of the self-driving cars on the public highways of France.

These new protocols will invite more investors to invest in the auto manufacturing industry in France. This also supports the gathering of information that will improve self-driving technology.

This is similar to what Toyota wants to do in Japan. However, in the U.S., self-driving cars are still open to much debate as there are a lot of hindrances that refrain it from being used by the mass market.

John Greenough, a senior research analyst at BI Intelligence, has organized a report that contains information related to self-driving cars. The report provides solutions that overcome the problems that prevent self-driving cars to enter the market.

The report also shows the reality where self-driving cars are popular.
