Lamborghini Centenario: New Video Depicting the Supercar in Action Released

The Lamborghini Centenario was launched at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year. And now, there is a new video that has been released depicting the supercar in action.

The Centenario is designed in celebration of what would have been the 100th year of the company founder Ferruccio Lamborghini. Just 40 units of the supercar would be built though exclusivity has always come at a price. For the Centenario, that amounts to $2.5 million.

While detractors have been quick to balk at the price which no doubt is setting new standards so far as exotic supercars are concerned, what simply can't be denied is the sheer performance credentials that the Centenario comes to offer.

To put it in figures, the Centenario reaches the three figure speed mark from standing still in just 2.8 seconds while the 186 mph mark is breached in 23.5 seconds. Top speeds stands at an equally impressive 217 mph. All of that can be attributed to the 759 horses that the massive V12 generates, which makes the Centenario perhaps the finest V12 to have ever been launched bearing the famous Italian marque.

Meanwhile, Lamborghini stated the 40 Centenarios will be available in two body styles of 20 coupes and 20 roadsters. Also according to CarsUK, the new Centenario will be making its UK debut just this month at the upcoming Salon Prive event.

Also, while the Centenarios that have sharply raked carbon fiber construction to boast of are also believed to be a reworked version of the Aventador, it is the looks that can set both apart. Or rather, the Centenario can be considered an Aventador on steroids that is meant for extreme action on the tracks.

From a price perspective, the Centenario also costs five times more than its nearest brethren, the Aventador. However, that hasn't stopped the supercar from being all sold out.

The rest of us can do have the video to drool over.
