Apple's electric car 'Project Titan' has been making a wave of buzz across the tech world. While the Cupertino-based company is known for luxurious and high-quality devices, it seems that they are widening their scope of products with the latest item.

However, Apple is also known for not commenting on the upcoming projects. But good thing that various tech websites are able to exert efforts is satisfying the reader's thirst for even the tiniest details. Here is everything that we know so far.

According to Wall Street Journal, Apple has hundreds of employees to work on an Apple-branded vehicle labeled as the "Project Titan" which will look like a minivan. The company had a meeting with Austrian contract managers like the Magna Steyr to start off the project.

As per the report, the tech company wanted to challenge Tesla, who is known to have produced hybrid electric supercars as well. However, Apple does not do the manufacturing process.

In order to do so, the executives also got in touch with car manufacturers which are mostly based in Germany. Sourced from a German newspaper, the website also wrote that Apple has a secret laboratory located somewhere in Berlin.

But to start off the "Project Titan," CEO Tim Cook visited the BMW headquarter in Germany which is the home for its i3 electric cars, Reuters reported. The CEO was with the former Ford executive, Steve Zadesky, who is now part of the project as well.

The car teams have been studying the development for perhaps, months from now. They allegedly have an industrial facility is Sunnydale, CA. Apple is also planning to put up a huge lot into one of their car laboratories.

"Apple's latest project is too exciting to pass up," a source told Business Insider. "I think it will change the landscape and give Tesla a run for its money." 

So far, Apple continues to develop the "Project Titan" by acquiring Dan Dodge into the team. They are up to building a software for the electric car. The company is said to have built a prototype of the vehicle as well.

CEO Tim Cook has not given any concrete details about the project, including its official name. He said that element of surprise could be compared to Christmas Eve, wherein everyone is excited about the gifts.
