Joey Logano Records Fifth NASCAR Win

Continuing his winning streak in the NASCAR Sprint Cup series, driver Joey Logano took the checkered flag at Michigan Motor Speedway on Saturday. 

"I've just had a lot of confidence in myself latterly and my abilities and knowing what I can do. There hasn't been an opportunity that we let slip up yet," Joey Logano said after clinching the victory cup.

The win gives Logano his fifth of the season and 14th of his career in the No. 18 Gibbs Racing Toyota car. The speedster helf off James Buescher to nab the win.

Saturday's race also marked the return of Kurt Busch, who was back on the track from a one-week suspension. Busch finished in third.The event had lots of other elements to watch for. Officials of the Sprint Cup series waved the red flag after drivers Josh Richards and Jamie Dick was involved in accident with just seven laps to go. No injuries were reported but Dick's car was burnt with flames. Both drivers were evacuated from the crash.

"We took a shot at it at the end. As long as you're in position, that's all you can ask for," Buescher told the media after the incident.

Statistics shows that the majority of the cars in the race were driving at more than 200 mph.
