This week Japanese car maker Toyota will be showing off to car fans (and potential customers) the new face of the Toyota Fortuner in India. The announcement on the new Toyota model also signals its unveiling before the end of this year, that is during the Festive Season.

According to OnCars India, the new Fortuner would be renamed Toyota Innova Crysta, and the said model has already been up for sale in overseas markets, Australia, Thailand, and South Africa, to name a few. The new model's look has it up to 15mm wider and 90mm longer than its predecessor. The Toyota Innova Crysta is going to be a bit shorter by 15mm than the outgoing Toyota, however, the Innova Crysta's wheelbase would remain at 2,750mm.

The best part is, that, buyers are given a couple of options regarding its engine choice. Options include the 2.8 liter GD and the 2.4 liter GD, which is guaranteed to produce nearly 175PS on full gear. While the 2.8 liter GD does about 174PS max power output and 360Nm peak torque, the 2.4 liter doesn't fall behind either - with up to 149PS power and 343Nm torque action, according to the news agency.

Either engine options also come together with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions, plus it gets a 4-wheel drivetrain design, in an IBTimes India post. The new Toyota Innova Crysta SUV also comes fitted 18-inch alloy wheels, an Anti-Lock Braking System with Electronic BrakeForce Distribution, and Traction Control, to name a few. The new model also has a Reversing Camera that has parking sensors as an added safety feature.

The Bangalore plant would be home to the new GD range of turbo diesel engines which would be integrated into the new Toyota Innova Crysta's production, and the new facility is expected to produce more than 500 jobs as well as 108,000 units annually, as per the publication.
