New Land Rover App Tells Where You Left Your Wallet And Keys

Losing your car keys can be very frustrating, especially when you are already in a rush. However, a new Land Rover app has found a way to help drivers locate their keys immediately, as well as other kinds of objects.

Land Rover recently incorporated the Bluetooth technology used by Tile in locating various objects to help drivers find different essential objects that are often misplaced.

Engadget reports that the 2017 Discovery Sport can indicate when owners have left behind tagged objects and shows these on a map. The Bluetooth-connected trackers from Tile were intended to help people find a variety of things that are frequently handled and misplaced, such as phones, keys, tablets, bags and wallets, among other things.

According to Gizmodo, the small Bluetooth tracker, called a Tile, is physically attached to each item. Each Tile will then be paired to the user’s phone. Whenever the owner misplaces the item, they can open the Tile app and have the tracker play a 90db sound to locate the lost object.

The 2017 Discovery Sport Tile included the item-searching tech in its InControl apps setup, which will immediately inform the driver if tagged items are not inside the car. The app can also locate items that are already inside the vehicle. The tech can find these and start a 90db alert sound so drivers can quickly retrieve these, thereby saving time and effort.

Buyers of the 2017 SUV can opt to avail of the 10.2-inch touchscreen with an aspect ratio of 21:9. The standard unit has an 8-inch displayThe Tile Bluetooth app can be managed on the screen. There is also a higher-resolution display for dual-screen presentation without any compromise on the image quality.

AutoBlog states that the 2017 Discovery Sport features a number of minor updates and further enhance its aesthetics and functionality. The upgraded version will become available in August 2016 at a starting price of $38,690. The new Dynamic Design Package for the HSE and HSE LUX trims will provide small adjustments to the exterior of the vehicle, including 20-inch gross black wheels, front and rear bumper enhancements, upgrades to the exterior and interior trims and contrast seat stitching.

The SUVs will arrive with Land Rover’s InControl Touch Screen infotainment system, optional safety features, an optional Intelligent Speed Limiter and Lane Keep Assist.

More updates and details on the 2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport and its new Tile app are expected soon.
