As the 3rd richest person listed on the Fortune Magazine World Billionaire list as of April 2012, Warren Buffett is anything but extravagant or flashy. He is a man who has made his fotune by making smart decisions. He even left an impression on the world when he donated a large portion of his wealth to The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
The history of Warren Buffett's wealth stems from him trusting his instincts and buying or selling a company at the right time. With all this wealth, one would think that he would drive one of the most rare and expensive car, but this is not the case. Mr. Buffet has billions, but he enjoys many of the simplest things in life. Instead on living in a multi-acre mansion, he lives in a modest home where he and his late wife raised their children. Instead of driving an very expensive and exotic sports car, he drives a Cadillac.
While he could have chosen any car exclusively owned by the wealthy, he chose the Cadillac as a means to support General Motors. Gestures like this are examples of how he has consistently grown his businesses through the years.
As CEO and Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, Warren has made some good decision and some choices that have not gone so well, but he has normally remained steady in business which is why he has remained on the top of the Fortune's richest list. He is only second to Bill Gates in the list for the richest people in The United States.
And although, he has a high net worth he is really still just like your next door neighbor who happens to be a billionaire due to his apparent humility. One thing that is true. He definitely appears to be doing many things right.
