Google Alphabet and other carmakers such as Ford, Uber, Lyft and Volvo are treading the same path to strengthen self-driving car adoption. It has been noted that the collaborative works between the different segments can hasten the integration of self-driving cars to roam the roads and lanes.

Computer World reports that Google and the other entities have strengthened their pact and commitment to bringing the innovation self-driving technology on the streets into congress.

The report presses on to note that the strategy being implied by the varying sectors are to lobby the lawmakers and the regulators so that the integration and progress would take on a faster and swifter path. Also, the coalition was formed to pressure the government to act and approve the "patchwork" of state driving laws that can pose as an impediment to their cause.

All the more, the coalition is dedicated to bringing the fight closer into the local entities as well such as involving civic organizations and making their presence stronger so that the ease of access to cruise the American lanes and highways become easier.

As for David Strickland, the Coalition's counsel and spokesperson, "Self-driving vehicle technology will make America's roadways safer and less congested. The best path for this innovation is to have one clear set of federal standards, and the Coalition will work with policymakers to find the right solutions that will facilitate the deployment of self-driving vehicles."

Additional report from Reuters clearly indicates the difference between having self-driving cars on the road and not having these cars as well as its link to accidents and fatalities. Even Ford accepts the importance of working today to ensure changes to occur.

Ford affirmed the impact of the collaboration in place and said, "We work together to advocate for policy solutions that will support the deployment of fully autonomous vehicles."
