Carlos Ghosn, Chief Executive Officer of Nissan Motors, confirmed the latest future plans the Nissan Motor has in store for the Datsun during an interview to Bloomberg Television in Hong Kong.

In an formal announcement, Nissan Motor Company, which is the Japan's second biggest car manufacturer, announced it expects Datsun, their third global brand, to account for 50 percent of their sales in the markets within the next five years.

Nissan Motors is making formal announcements after sensing the growing demand in countries like in China and Middle East. Ghosn was in Hong Kong to inaugurate the Nissan Infiniti Global headquarters and said Infiniti could account for more than 10 percent of the global luxury car market within the next five years. The Infiniti version was unveiled at the new global headquarters on Tuesday. Nissan's new inaugurated office will have a staff of 100 strong by the end of 2012.

Nissan 2012 Infiniti will be the first carmaker to have its base in Hong Kong.

Ghosn said Nissan Motors' corporate office will take into account of the city's growing car market. The city of Hong Kong has been attracting world class automakers to set up their corporate offices in the recent times. Seeing the good growth and improvisation with the investment by foreign car makers, mainland China is also on the verge of opening its iron doors for foreign guests.
