Ford Donates $250,000 In India

Ford Motors granted a hefty amount to India for the betterment and overall development of citizens in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. The grant will be utilized under Ford Motor Development Fund (FMDF). For the past few years, Ford Motor of India has been striving  to improve the livelihood of remote villages in the state of Tamil Nadu and has collaborated with the local governments in aiding the less developed areas.

Through Goodwill Operation, Ford Motors has been working hard for the overall development of women as well as providing adequate education to children of underpaid parents.

As per the mutual agreements on land, water and social contribution to the State Government of Tamil Nadu, Ford Motors will make a $250,000 donation, which will be used for social development purposes. In the initial step of providing adequate facilities, the world class automaker is now concentrating on the surrounding areas of the city Chennai where the car maker has production plant. The donation is for social purposes and will be utilized in joint cooperation with Global Giving, which is a non-governmental organization based in Chennai.

"The fiirst phase, the $125,000 amount will be used for four core areas which require social development and three state organizations will serve their hand in the proper utilization of the fund," said Michael Boneham, the Company's President and Managing Director, to reporters.
