Ford Focus to be Shipped to 67 Dealers

Ford Motors is ready to ship its first electric passenger cars to dealers this weekend.

According to sources, Ford Focus, the first electric passenger car, will be shipped to 67 dealers by this weekend. The number of cars will be limited to 350 this season, and the automaker is aiming high for the next season. The dealers for the Ford Focus are based in New York, California, and New Jersey. The executive management of the Ford Motors met on Monday and signed the documents of processing the Ford Focus.

Each of the 67 dealers will receive six cars, out of which one electric Focus will be used as a demonstration version. Even though much of the latest developments inside the Ford Motors is leaked to media, the export of the first passenger vehicles is still confidential.

"We had a different perspective on exporting hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles in the month of March. It is not a failure if we have not able meet up with the target. We are trying out the best of our efforts to meet the growing demand for Ford Focus and we are hopeful that by 2020, the Ford Motors will improved its ales to 25 percent. Initially, when we had the proposal of producing the Ford Focus, we were targeting 5,000 vehicles to be sold in each month," said Alan Mulally, Chief Executive Officer for Ford Motors.

The Ford Focus will be competing against the other global car makers. The Nissan Leaf is in the leading position in the electric vehicles, and there is also the Chevrolet Volt, which has received a considerable reviews from the auto community.
