Porsche has publicly responded to the wrongful death lawsuit brought forward by Meadow Walker, the 16-year-old daughter of the late Paul Walker, saying that the actor was responsible for his death in a car accident in Los Angeles in November 2013, CNN reported.

The German automaker released a statement blaming the deceased "Fast and Furious" franchise star for his own death after the 2005 Carrera GT (of which he was a passenger in) crashed and burned.

Porsche Cars North America alleged that Walker "knowingly and voluntarily assumed all risk" in respect to the use of the Carrera GT, according to the New York Daily News. "He chose to conduct himself in a manner so as to expose himself to such perils, dangers and risks, thus assuming all the risks involved in using the vehicle."

Walker's friend Roger Rodas. who was driving the car during the accident, lost control of the vehicle, leading to it crashing into a pole and bursting into flames. Walker was unable to exit the car before it caught fire, and both Rodas and Walker died. The LAPD determined that the cause of the crash was speeding at about 80 to 90 mph.

A representative for Meadow released a statement to TMZ, reiterating that Porsche is at fault due to the lack of proper safety features in the car's design.

"It is beyond regrettable that Porsche is trying to deflect its own responsibility by blaming the victim- Paul Walker- for his own death by getting into the passenger seat of its Carrera GT," the statement read.

"If Porsche had designed the car to include proper safety features, Paul would have survived, he would be filming 'Fast and Furious 8' and Meadow Walker would have the father she adored," the rep added.
