Harley Davidson has opened a new dealership in Scottsdale, Ariz., which is its biggest in the world to date and treats visitors to much more than motorcycles.
The motorcycle-maker held the grand opening celebration Saturday for the new dealership, which coincided with the fourth annual Bob's Bike blast, featuring a performance by the Doobie Brothers with Michael McDonald, according to the Phoenix Business Journal.
The dealership includes a Leather and Lace lingerie boutique and a Club Tattoo piercing and tattoo studio. The upstairs customer lounge comes with a free arcade, Wi-Fi, Hog coffee bar and outdoor patio for events, while the basement provides a 48-seat movie theater for waiting customers that also hosts bike demos, new product releases, seminars and sporting events.
The building spans 150,000 square feet, making it the largest dealership in the U.S., Fox 10 News Phoenix reported.
Bob Parsons, the owner of Harley Davidson Scottsdale, officially cut the ribbon with Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey and Sheriff Joe Arpiao to open the dealership for business.
"People will come all over the world specifically because Arizona is such a great place to ride," Parsons said.
"Any kind of Harley you've ever wanted to see. We've got a rumble zone where you can actually start your bike up, and we have all the ventilation so you can pull it right out."
Doug Roessing, the dealership's general manager, said that it displays about 120 bikes on the main floor, 75 on the patio and another 275 in the basement showroom, the Phoenix Business Journal noted. Other features include an Arizona-themed photo booth next to the Harley clothing, accessories, riding gear and luggage/storage sale merchandise area, as well as a large gong, the original one used on stage by Blue Oyster Cult drummer Albert Bouchard, that is banged when new customers join the Harley family.
The dealership also has a 95-seat chapel and multipurpose room for weddings and other events. Parsons hosted and officiated the dealership's first wedding Friday, which will be for friends.
