Ford Still Advertises on Facebook

It seems one’s loss is another’s gain.

After General Motors backed out from advertising in social media giant Facebook, now the Ford Motors is working on new tricks to make it work in social media advertisements.

Sources at the Ford Motors said that the world class automaker is taking an opinion from the team experts in social media advertising on getting popularity in Facebook and other social media organizations. It can be recalled that General Motors backed out of the collaboration with Facebook from advertising on its website, claiming that it was a "waste of money and time".

The move to continue advertising for Facebook comes from the Ford Motors after clearly assessing both corners of loss and profit.

"We have a strategy towards the Facebook. We really don't have anyone in mind but charting out plans to make it work for us for all the branding initiatives. We still feel that the social media networks play a vital role for any company and being a world class automaker we believe we have an immense possibility of reaching new horizons with Facebook," said Matt Van Dyke, Director of Marketing and Communications in Ford Motors.

Ford has a strong opposing policy towards rejecting Facebook as a platform for publicity. The world-class automaker was the first to launch an exclusive model 2011 Explorer which was publicized only in Facebook and no other medium was used for the publicity material.

"The decision of other carmakers to back out from the Facebook seems to be too early and premature. The social media is expanding very slowly and in the future it will definitely play a vital role in the car market. Assessing these changes, we at the Ford Motors believe that we would definitely gain a good momentum in the days to come," added Dyke.
