Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk has hinted at the company's future projects after deleting a tweet that mentioned the Model Y Friday.

The tweet has since been deleted, but it managed to get electric car fans' hopes up for the future crossover, according to Autoblog. Musk was responding to a tweet from a fan who said that she would love to see the Model 3 have the same falcon-wing doors as the recently-unveiled Model X SUV.

"There will be a Model 3 and a Model Y. One of the two will," Musk wrote.

The tweet follows two days after the debut of Tesla's first "Founder" edition Model Xs.

The Model 3 is currently expected to not have falcon-wing doors and arrive as a smaller, cheaper version of the Model S, Ars Technica reported. The car is also expected to have three horizontal bars (≡) as its logo.

Tesla trademarked the name "Mode Y" in 2013, and the vehicle is expected to be a smaller, cheaper version of the Model X. The automaker also trademarked the Model E at the time and originally planned on using the name instead the Model 3 before Ford sued over the name.

The Model 3 logo would also be another sign of Tesla's proneness to puns (S,≡,X,Y), Autoblog reported. Other moves symbolizing the company's sense of humor include the development of a "Ludicrous" mode and the Model X's "Bioweapon Defense Mode."

The Model Y tweet wasn't the only one Musk deleted last week, as he had to do the same for a response to a question about a future Model X with a smaller, cheaper 70-kWh battery, in which he wrote "something like a 70, but probably around 12 months from now."
