Jaguar Land Rover gave James Bond fans a look at the cars that were used for stunts in the upcoming film "Spectre" at this year's Frankfurt Auto Show.
Among the vehicles that will appear in the new 007 film is a Jaguar C-X75, which will be driven by villain Hinx, played by Dave Bautista, in a nighttime chase scene in Rome, according to Digital Trends. The C-X75 first appeared in 2010 as a concept hybrid supercar at that year's Paris Motor Show, but it will not be available to customers.
The other vehicles that will appear in "Spectre" include modified Land Rover Defenders that come with roof racks, winches, big tires and other off-road accessories, as well as a Range Rover Sport SVR, which features a roof-mounted LED light bar. Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations prepared all of these vehicles.
Bond will drive an Aston Martin DB10 in the chase scene, The Telegraph reported. Like the C-X75, for which Land Rover cancelled production, consumers won't be able to buy this vehicle.
"After I was cast, the producers were a bit concerned that I wouldn't fit in the car," Bautista said. "So when I first opened the door, parked my butt in the seat and swung my legs in, there was a big sigh of relief."
The former pro wrestler added that he first thought that his character was going to be "someone along the lines of Oddjob," but director Sam Mendes showed him that Hinx doesn't act like a subordinate.
"Sam told me to think of Mr. Hinx as the baddest man in the world," Bautista said. "He's a guy who sees nobody as a threat, so he isn't intimidated by anybody and there are no rules. He's a high-ranking member of Spectre and is there to enforce, but he's very intelligent, very methodical and very focused. I don't think Mr. Hinx sees himself as the villain. To him, he's the good guy; James Bond is the villain."
Bautista was present at Land Rover's unveiling of the film's vehicles, as was Naomie Harris, who plays Eve Moneypenny in the Bond series, Digital Trends reported.
Fans will get to see these cars in action when "Spectre" hits theaters Nov. 6.
