Land Rover introduced the concept for a new version of its popular Defender at the Frankfurt Auto Show that is perfect for kids who want their own 4x4.

The Defender pedal car is styled as a tribute to the "Huey," the first-ever pre-production Land Rover, as it comes with the vehicle's original numberplate of "HUE 166," according to the Daily Mail.

Land Rover gave the toy car a rolled-edge aluminum frame and the same Loire Blue finish as the full-scale Defender.

Features of the 55-in-by-22-in vehicle include those commonly found on the Defender, such as a protective chequer plate, cylindrical running bars and off-road tires that come with mudflaps. The inside comes with an authentically styled dashboard, working horn rear stowage section with cover, leather finish, trimmed seats and a steering wheel.

Land Rover is building the pedal car in the U.K. and plans to make it available to customers next spring for approximately 10,000 pounds ($15,430), Autocar reported.

"This is both a wonderful collector's piece and children's toy," said Lindsay Weaver, Jaguar Land Rover's director of branded and licensed goods. "It demonstrates our ability to produce goods with world class quality and attention to detail that can emulate our world-class Jaguar and Land Rover cars."
