Dyson is looking into a variety of ways to use its technology, one of them being the creation of its own electric car, CEO Max Conze has revealed.

Conze said during a recent earnings announcement that his company is "ruling nothing out," when it comes to the use of its technology, suggesting the production of an electric vehicle as among the possibilities, according to the Daily Mail.

The announcement follows Dyson's purchase earlier this year of Michigan-based battery company Sakit3. If the company goes through with building an electric car, it could include Sakit3's "solid-state" batteries that store twice as much as energy as current lithium-ion batteries.

Dyson is widely known for producing vacuum cleaners, but it wouldn't be the first non-automaker to start building its own car, as Apple and Google are already working on their electric-powered and self-driving projects, The Independent reported.

Conze was asked if he was considering joining these companies, as well as electric car giant Tesla, to which he said that Dyson could already be looking into it.

"We are ruling nothing out," he said. "Like our friends in Cupertino we are also unhealthily obsessive when it comes to taking apart our products to make them better."

"If you do what we do and invent disruptive technologies and have thousands of engineers working on these projects for as long as 15 years, then you want to keep that work in the lab until it's ready," Conze added, the Daily Mail reported.
