The Hybrid Nissan Pathfinder will be a memory of the past as the Japanese automaker has cancelled its production, according to Edmunds. The standard Pathfinder has been quite a success for the company, especially in recent years. In fact, sales are up 12 percent since last June.

The hybrid boasts a 2.5-liter supercharged four cylinder gasoline engine, pushing out 250 hp and 243 lb-ft of torque, Auto Week reports. The car also boasts a 15-kW electric motor at 20 hp and 29- lb-ft of torque, totaling 250 hp and 243 lb-ft.

However, the front-wheel drive hybrid only tops the standard model by 3 mpg, while the all-wheel-drive only adds one more mpg more than the standard edition. Based on this, it is understandable why Nissan would look to cut the hybrid from its squad. 

There is good news on the horizon for those of you that fancy the hybrid vehicles. Nissan may be adding a new Rogue hybrid model, according to Car And Driver. After a two-year run, it is time to pay your respects and say goodbye to the hybrid Pathfinder.
