Lotus Evora 400 To Be Delivered

Lotus USA Inc. announced it will resume deliveries of the new Evora 400 in December of 2015, M Live reports.

These will be the first deliveries of the Evora 400, which will be sold as a 2017 model year. With a 0-60 acceleration speed in 4.1 seconds, 400 horsepower and a top speed of 186 mph, this makes the new model the fastest Lotus ever, according to Auto guide. While the Evora 400 will be the first model released, Lotus plans to follow it with the 3-Eleven sports car. Rumors also suggest a crossover might be in the making.

As well as this announcement, Lotus will also be moving its American headquarters. Currently stationed near Atlanta in Lawrenceville, Ga., the British sports car manufacturers will be heading north to Ann Arbor, Mich. There, it will share facilities with Lotus Engineering Inc.

"North America, as the largest sports car market in the world, is important for Lotus, both for model sales and for our engineering consultancy business. By having both of our USA organisations located in Michigan, we shall be within the heartland of the USA automotive sector, where the headquarters of some of the most important, influential and significant automotive manufacturers and suppliers are based," said Jean-Marc Gales, Group Lotus plc CEO. "This will reaffirm our presence in the North American market, by providing improved customer service, better technical and consultancy support, while ensuring that we have access to a skills base not found anywhere else in the territory. All of this fits with Lotus developing speedily in North America in years to come"

Lotus Cars USA currently has 47 dealers in North America, according to Motor Trend.
