Watch a Jaguar F-Type R Test Bloodhound SCC's Parachute System

In 2016, British air force pilot Andy Green will attempt to break 1,000 mph and obliterate the current world land speed record while driving in a Bloodhound SSC.

Until then, there are a number of tests that need to be completed to make sure the attempt goes without a hiccup.

With initial test runs in the jet-rocket car scheduled for later this year, a custom Jaguar F-Type R, equipped with Bloodhound SSC's parachute system, was created with the sole purpose of making sure the deployment system works.

Watch below to see the deployment system get put to the test at 186 mph on a Bentwater Air Base runway in the U.K.
