From this point on, NBA superstar Dwight Howard no longer wants to be called Superman. Instead, his loyal fans around the world can now refer to him as simply "The Flash."

TMZ Sports is reporting that the 29-year-old Houston Rockets center wants to move past the nickname he earned during his eight years with the Orlando Magic and he's going to great lengths to do so.

"When he came to the Rockets, he wanted a change," said the owner of 712 Motoring in Houston, Ash Barnes, to TMZ Sports. "He said he no longer wanted to be called Superman, he is now Flash out here in Houston."

Howard doesn't just want to change his nickname though, he asked the auto body shop to completely modify his 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.

The $65,000 Flash-inspired makeover includes gold and red rims, decals on the gas tank, seats and hood and a custom paint job fit for a superhero junkie like Howard, according to TMZ Sports.

The highlight of the car though is a lighting system designed by 713 Motoring that will display the Flash logo on the ground each time Howard opens up a door.

The three-time Defensive Player of the Year should have an easy time transitioning to his new nickname since the old Flash, aka Dwayne Wade, dropped the moniker in 2010.
