General Motors might not be ready to unwrap the new 2016 Chevrolet Cruze just yet, but they did offer us a sneak peek look at the new ride on Thursday.

Set to hit dealerships next year, the Cruze will be lighter and roomier thanks to two additional inches of more rear seat legroom, according to GM.

Other specs like EPA estimates, engine options and top speed haven't bene announced yet, but we do know it will be one of the first Chevy's to offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

"In every corner of the globe, Cruze has been successful at introducing new and younger customers to Chevrolet," said GM President of North America and global Chevy brand chief, Alan Batey, in a press statement. "Compact car customers are looking for style, safety and connectivity at an affordable price and the Cruze delivers on all fronts."

GM has sold more than 3.5 million Chevy Cruzes since the ride was first introduced back in 2008, and the award-winning ride is now sold in a whopping 115 countries, including China, the U.S. and Brazil.

Chevy will look to build off those numbers when the new Cruze reaches dealers sometime in early 2016 to join Chevy's lineup of recently-unveiled vehicles like the new Camaro, Malibu and Spark.
