The issue:

Subaru is recalling 2004-2005 Imprezas made between 2003 and 2005 and Saab 9-2x vehicles made between 2004 and 2005.

Affected vehicles contain passenger side frontal air bags made by Takata with faulty inflators that could rupture upon deployment, according to a report by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The fix:

Company dealers are being told to repair all passenger air bag inflators, free of charge.

Injuries or accidents:

No injuries or accidents have been linked to the latest recall. More than 100 injuries and six deaths have been linked to faulty Takata air bags overall in the last decade.

Recall date:

The recall is expected to begin on July 27. Subaru will notify Impreza owners and General Motors will contact all Saab owners.

Number of Models Affected:

About 81,000 vehicles are affected by this recall.
