Just days after we reported that Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will reach GM vehicles, now we've confirmed Volvo drivers will soon be able to connect their cars to their smartwatches.
An updated "Volvo On Call" smart app will soon become available for download to sync up with devices like the Apple Watch, iPad and Android Wear devices.
Company Director of Connected Products and Services at Volvo, David Holecek, says that the app will allow drivers to "take control over" everyday elements inside your car, according to Volvo.
So what is so different about the updated system? Owners will be able to check how much fuel they have left, set heater timings and lock or unlock doors all from their wrist.
The app will even help car owners find their car in a crowded parking garage, which is something most of us have had trouble with far too often.
"In only a few years we have moved from a safety and security related in-car feature to a solution that allows the driver to stay connected with their car and provides many new benefits to support their everyday requirements," said Sofia Wessman, Manager Volvo On Call at Volvo Cars in a media statement.
Originally launched in 2001, expect the updated "Volvo On Call" app to be released sometime next month.
