The Gran Turismo video game franchise offers automotive and video game enthusiasts the opportunity to choose from myriad production, historic, and concept cars for virtual races. Now, to mark SRT's most recent entry into the Gran Turismo 6 fleet, the brand is resurrecting the moniker of an old concept to create the Tomahawk.
And it is awesome.
SRT says that the Tomahawk will be a single-passenger race car with a hybrid powertrain. Here's what we know, based on the limited images provided by SRT:
- Its front clip is reminiscent of a McLaren's, with an aggressive front overhang.
- It has a five-pipe exhaust.
- Carbon fiber will most definitely make an appearance.
- Its profile in the aero tunnel looks much like the upcoming Ford GT's.
The last time that a Tomahawk rolled out under the FCA—erm, DaimlerChrysler—name, it was a motorcycle with the 500-hp engine of a Dodge Viper stuffed underneath the driver.
SRT offered no details on the Tomahawk's engine outputs and specs, nor any images interior, but has promised more information to come at a later date.
