The issue:

Honda is calling back about 350,000 vehicles in Japan made between 2002 and 2008 over defective Takata air bag inflators.

So far, Honda has confirmed the 2005 Honda Civic and 2006-2007 Honda Accord are affected by the latest recall though more models will be announced by next month.

The fix:

Company dealers are being told to repair all air bag inflators in affected vehicles, free of charge to the customers.

Injuries or accidents:

No injuries or accidents have been linked to the latest recall. More than 100 injuries and six deaths have been linked to faulty Takata air bags overall in the last decade.

Recall date:

An official recall date has not been set yet by the automaker. Owners should receive their notices in the mail next month though we encourage everyone to look for updates on Honda's recall page.

Number of Models Affected:

Approximately 350,000 cars are affected by the latest recall, mainly in Japan. About 260,000 cars have been added to Honda's recall to repair passenger-side inflators and 80,000 cars being called back were equipped with driver-side air bag inflators.
