This is it: The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, which debuted yesterday at Detroit's Belle Isle park.

The familiar design hides much more than a facelift. Under the skin is a platform shared with the Cadillac ATS, among other General Motors products, allowing for a lighter overall weight but a stronger overall structure.

Some of the best news is under the hood. Chevrolet will offer four, six, and eight-cylinder engine options for the Camaro—just like Ford does for the Mustang—as well as a variety of transmissions.
