Police have arrested a Missouri man on charges of shooting a civil engineering student dead during a meeting that was set up through Craigslist earlier this week.

Michael Gordon, 24, was booked on Tuesday and is being held in a county jail on $1 million bond after being charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action, Florissant Police Department spokesman Tim Fagen said during a news conference on Wednesday.

Clark was looking to sell a red 2007 Nissan on Craigslist and agreed to meet Gordon to test the car out in the parking lot of a MTC Truck Driver Training school, which is where Gordon worked, according to St. Louis news station KMOV 4.

"The victim and the suspect did connect through Craigslist after the victim listed a vehicle for sale," Fagen said to reporters during his press conference "They were going to meet and the vehicle was going to be looked at and test-driven."

The following day, after Clark's parents reported their son missing, police found the Nissan at the MTC Truck Driver Training school and Clark's body hidden in the woods nearby.

Gordon supposedly shot Clark once before attempting to hide the body "with dirt and leaves" and then returned to work as if nothing happened, according to KMOV 4.

The case is still under investigation though Gordon has talked with investigators about the incident, according to CNN. Fagen has not provided any details regarding those meetings yet.

"People should always be concerned about anything that they do, especially if it's online," said Fagan according to KSDK. "You never know who it is that you're contacting, and so precautions are always advisable."

Craigslist has not issued a statement regarding the incident yet.
