Updated Mustang Customizer Available Through Google Play, Apple App Store

Ford knows how to keep its fans happy. The Detroit automaker issued a redesigned 2015 Mustang last year and now they've released an updated Mustang Customizer app for fans to download on their smartphone devices.

Among the new features listed under the app's description is 3-D rendering, which lets users view their ride from just about every angle possible to make sure they get the exact car they want.

"When we launched the Mustang Customizer in 2009, it was massively popular," said Andrea Zuehlk, Digital Marketing Manager, according to Ford. "With more than 5.4 million custom Mustangs built and more than 1.6 million app downloads since 2012, we knew we had to deliver a redesigned experience to complement the redesigned 2015 Mustang."

Three vehicle options can be selected through the app, along with two backgrounds and the option to mix colors to create a truly unique ride.

"Not only is the Mustang Customizer fun, but it allows Mustang fans to visualize their dream Mustang with any number of modifications," said Zuehlk.

Once a vehicle is created on the app aspects like the color and engine selection are then sent to a dealer inventory to find specific showrooms that have a similar Mustang available, according to Ford.

Ford has plans to add other options during the second quarter of 2015, like video-creation mode and the capability to put their custom ride anywhere around the globe through Google Streetview.

The updated app is available for download now through the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

A Mustang Customizer website will be launched later this year for those who might find designing a car on a phone a little difficult.
