Talk about having fun at work.

Ford set a new world record for the largest loop by a Hot Wheels car as part of its "Take Your Child to Work Day" initiative.

Technician Matt West, who builds custom loops at home to help teach his son about physics, designed a 12.5-foot loop for the record-breaking attempt, according to Ford.

"We built one in our playroom, and then built a five-foot-tall loop in our backyard," said West, according to Ford. "When people at Ford heard what we were up to, everyone thought it would be a great way to get young people excited about science and engineering by trying to break the world record on Take Your Child to Work Day."

The loop was then assembled by engineers at Ford's Tech Shop in Detroit before being transported to the atrium of Ford's Research and Innovation Center in Michigan.

As seen in the video, a Ford Mustang Hot Wheels car successfully completed the 12-foot, six-inch loop to set a new world record.

The previous record of nine feet, nine inches was set in Ohio.
