The Seoul Motor Show is open to the public this week, where 32 different automakers have exhibits for car fans to check out.

Right next to the Bentley exhibit is a company looking for investors to make its dream of selling mini-pickups with small-diesel engines and electric motors a reality.

The name of that company is Cony Motor Co., a South Korean startup that hasn't declared a plant site or obtained a single customer yet, but has high hopes of making an impact in places like Africa, Latin America and Korea.

Cony is run by Choi Yong Yun, a former head of Ssangyong Motor, who founded his latest venture last June along with a group of engineers, according to Auto-Press.net.

So how did they come up with the unique name? It derived from "coniglio," which is Italian for rabbit, since Cony's designer travels a lot to Italy.

Here's the upstart's current plan: Diesel options of its trucks will go for $8,000 and are powered by two- or three-cylinder engines, according to Automotive News. The electric versions meanwhile will go for about $15,000, with a battery package capable of delivering 193 miles on a full charge.

Cony is looking to start production and sales by 2016, and hopes the exposure at the Seoul Motor Show will allow them to get the ball rolling.

Like any good company, they already have future plans lined-up, assuming they're able to get a few investors of course.

"We plan to unveil various follow-up models, including an electric compact truck, mini bus, passenger car, a city commuter, an electric taxi model and a mid-sized bus," Cony's said in a press release.
