Cadillac CTS-V Wins About.com 2013 Readers' Choice Award for Best Performance Car

The Cadillac CTS-V is named winner of About.com’s Readers’ Choice Award for Best Performance Car this year.

The About.com 2012 Readers’ Choice Awards honor best products, features, and services among 19 categories, including Autos, where readers are allowed to vote for the winner. There were six awards given in the Autos category, and Cadillac CTS-V received 31 percent of the votes for the Best Performance Car, outrunning Chevrolet Corvett, 25 percent, Ford Mustang, 18 percent, BMW M3, 12 percent, and Lotus Evora, 2 percent.

“It's no surprise to me that readers chose the CTS-V -- its blend of outlandish power, precise handling, and breathtaking styling, especially in coupe form, make it one of the best performance cars in General Motors history,” reportedly said Aaron Gold, Guide to Cars, About.com.

The CTS V-Series, available in either six-speed manual transmission or six-speed automatic transmission, are powered by 6.2L V-8 that can produce up to 556 horsepower. Other technical complements of the vehicle include Magnetic Ride Control, Brembo brakes and Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 performance tires mounted on 19-inch forged aluminum wheels.

“This year's Readers' Choice Awards program had a record number of nominations submitted across dozens of categories and featured hundreds of finalists," reportedly said About.com’s managing editor Margot Weiss.

"We are thankful to all our readers for their participation and congratulate Cadillac on their success,” Weiss remarked.

Cadillac, since 1902, has been a luxury auto brand of the General Motors Company. In recent years, Cadillac has incorporated artful engineering and advanced technology.
