Rock musician David Crosby hit and injured a jogger while driving his car in Southern California over the weekend.

Crosby, 73, dinged Jose Jimenez with the right front end of his 2015 Tesla sedan about 30 miles northwest of the coastal city of Santa Barbara on Sunday night, California Highway Patrol Sergeant Don Clotworthy said in a statement to Reuters.

"David Crosby is obviously very upset that he accidentally hit anyone," a rep for the singer-songwriter said in a statement to E! News today. "And, based off of initial reports, he is relieved that the injuries to the gentleman were not life threatening. He wishes the jogger a very speedy recovery."

The singer was traveling at the legal speed limit of 55 mph into the direction of the sun when he hit Jimenez, who had to be airlifted to a local hospital.

Jimenez, 46, sustained a number of cuts and fractures, though none of his injuries are considered to be life-threatening, according to CNN.

Police said they don't believe alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash, though the investigation is still under way.

A CHP spokesperson confirmed to E! News that the jogger was on the wrong side of the road, since California law requires pedestrians to be running or walking against traffic when they're outside of a residential or business zone.

No charges are expected to be filed against Crosby, who had heart surgery last year to fix a blocked coronary artery.

Fortunately, Crosby stopped immediately after the incident and cooperated with authorities the entire time.

Crosby is one of the rare musicians to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, once for his work as part of the folk rock trio Crosby, Stills and Nash and a second time for being a founding member of the popular 1960s rock group The Byrds.
