Revamped New Hyundai Sonata in 2014

South Korea based Hyundai Motor has plans to launch redesigned mid-sized Sonata sedan sometime in 2014. Officially confirms the brand’s CEO Kim Choon-ho in an interview to an international news agency here on Wednesday.

The existing latest version of the mid-sized Sonata sedan was launched in late September 2009 in South Korea and re-launched as early as in 2010 in the U.S markets. The model is still the Hyundai’s third-top model in terms of sales in South Korea in 2010. Sonata, which is competing with Toyota Motor Corp’s Camry, is also Hyundai’s top-selling model in the U.S. markets too. The record sales in the market achieved the automaker a large segment of the market share in the last year. So, it has a strong following to please with the new redesigned model with latest updates.

The Sonata as we know it now was introduced to U.S. market in 2010, and has applauded with review of very mild refresh. And gets its own space of followers in the market. Going by its popularity, this yet to be launched newest redesign model should be much more significant. Prior to Sonata 2010 version, at least in the U.S. market there was little in the form of excitement in alternative styling in the midsize sedan segment. And it has helped Sonata to attain a huge success in sales numbers. It is expected that Hyundai to continue its curvy, edgy and stylish design when the revamped model debuts in 2014.
