Porsche Panamera Plug-in Hybrid in 2013

The renowned German based luxury automaker Porsche is planning to introduce the Plug-in version of the Panamera S Hybrid to the global market sometime in the mid-2013.

The four-door luxury car will have an electric range based on the European drive cycle of 30 kilometers, or 19 miles on a full charge of its batteries promising some interesting features to the existing luxurious model.

Reports reveal that Panamera Plug-in Hybrid might be priced close to $96,000 and expect to cough up more money than buyers would expect. The power train consists of a supercharged direct-injection gasoline V6 engine and a separate clutch permits the engine to stop while the car is moving. It has an EPA rated fuel-economy of 22/30 mpg (city/highway). Adding more luxury and comforts to its traditional customers, automaker has added a charger and a lithium-ion unit replacing the smaller nickel-metal hybrid battery.
