Nissan Proposes, Manning Disposes

Nissan has offered to build a Titan pickup for the Hall of Fame NFL star Payton Manning with a hope to have him back at Tennessee Titans for one more season, but Manning is not moved yet.

The automaker whose North American operation is now based in Tennessee has issued an official press release.

“Like you, we at Nissan North America were not all born to Rocky Top. But it is now home to our corporate headquarters... we at Nissan North America want to make you a Titan - a 2012 Nissan Titan - as a gesture of gratitude recognizing your great accomplishments and philanthropic contributions to our national community,” says an open letter to Manning.

Nissan says the offer is valid regardless of the final destination of Manning, whose name had been associated with Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers in addition to the Titans.

Even after the Tennessee-based automaker’s effort, Manning seems to have made his mind for Broncos, according to the latest rumors. The last remaining question is, would Peyton Manning still take the Titan pickup?

UPDATE (03/20/2012, 10:51 AM PST): Payton Manning is confirmed to go to Denver Bronco with a new five-year $96 million contract.
