Here's The 2016 Mazda Miata MX-5 Accessories Concept Design

Mazda debuted the original Miata during the 1989 Chicago Auto Show to much fanfare. Nearly 26 years later, the company decided to make another splash in the Windy City by introducing the new MX-5 accessories design concept of the next-generation roadster.

What is it?

The show car features a Ceramic Metallic paint job and comes complete with 17-inch BBS wheels and Brembo brakes with red calipers. It also includes the same gloss-black Aero Kit (Rear Lip Spoiler, Front Air Dam, Rear Bumper Skirt and Side Still Extensions) found on the 2016 MX-5 Global Cup Car that made headlines in November after SEMA.

What's new?

Mazda is proudly showing off the carbon-fiber luggage rack for the new MX-5, which weighs less than two pounds. What's so special about the luggage rack you ask? It doesn't just mount to the truck to make carting stuff around easier, it includes an integrated Center High Mount Stop Lamp. Pretty cool right?

Most fascinating feature?

Power for the MX-5s comes from the automaker's 2.0-liter SKYACTIV-G inline four-cylinder engine, which is capable of producing 155 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque. Interestingly enough, both the SKYACTIV-MT and SKYACTIV-DRIVE six-speed automatic transmissions will also be available.

Can I buy it?

The next-generation roadster will hit U.S. dealerships starting this summer. The vehicle is on display through Feb. 22 at the Chicago Auto Show.

The Chicago auto show media preview is happening this week. Stay with us for up-to-the-minute coverage of all the action, and follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
