Jaguar and Land Rover have decided to recall approximately 104,000 vehicles over issues with brakes and lights.
The biggest recall involves a brake-hose problem that Jaguar Land Rover North American originally looked into and dismissed, only to reopen it again after an accident occurred, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
NHTSA, who issued notices on the recalls, said that Jaguar Land Rover North American will call back up to 74,648 Range Rover vehicles due to one or both brake hoses, which could rupture, causing the loss of braking fluid.
Land Rover dealers are being told to replace the brake hoses for free on the cars, which were released for the 2006 through 2012 model years.
Jaguar Land Rover first looked into the brake hose issues on November 2010 after dealers realized bulges in the hoses, according to a history posted by the safety regulators. The case was closed in June 2012 over the sporadic nature of ruptured hoses and the lack of reports of accidents or injuries.
Jaguar Land Rover reopened the investigation in November of last year after reporting an accident and more ruptured hoses, according to the document, released this weekend.
Range Rovers and Range Rover Sport vehicles released for the 2013 and 2014 model years will be called back over the brake vacuum hose might have been routed improperly, letting wear that could make a hole and a loss of braking power.
Dealers are being told to inspect the hoses and reroute or repair them, free of charge.
At least 4,787 Jaguar XK vehicles released for the 2012 through 2015 model years will be recalled over side parking lights could turn off after around five minutes.
Dealers will update all software controlling the lights, according to NHTSA.
All recalls will start officially March 13.
