2012 Dodge Durango Snatches Award at the Chicago Auto Show
2012 Dodge Durango won the MotorWeek’s “Driver’s Choice, Best Large Utility” award, along with Jeep® Grand Cherokee, on Feb. 8 at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show.
MotorWeek Drivers’ Choice Award is one of the most reputational awards for auto vehicles. Since 1983, a U.S. vehicle television series MotorWeek has presented its annual Driver’s Choice, judging from the driver’s point of view, such as performance, practicality and dollar value, and the fuel efficiency.
“It’s an honor to receive this award from MotorWeek,” said Reid Bigland, President and CEO of Dodge.
“Even though it’s still early in 2012, Dodge has already received more than a dozen awards across the line-up, demonstrating the strength of our products.”
Dodge Durango sales for the month of January increased 152% percent, compared to the same month in 2011. The sale of the entire Dodge brand, including cars such as Charger, Challenger, and Dart, boosted a 29 percent increase in January, compared to the previous year.
According to Chrysler, Dodge Durango features “more than 30 storage areas, 50 seating configurations and a rear cargo area of nearly 85 cubic feet that fits a 6-foot couch with room for a coffee table or a 10-foot ladder with the front passenger seat folded flat.”
In addition, the vehicle delivers a “perfect” combination of power and fuel economy. While running with 290 horsepower with its award-wining 3.6L Pentaster V-6 engine, the car can travel more than 550 miles on one tank of fuel.
“…that means Durango owners could drive all the way from Chicago to Nashville; San Diego to San Francisco; or New York City to Boston and back again without needing to stop for fuel,” wrote Chrysler on the press release.
