Daimler Recalls 114,000 Mercedes Over Faulty Seals

Daimler is recalling more than 114,000 if its four-cylinder diesel-engine Mercedes-Benz vehicles in Germany over faulty seals.

The cars are being called back to repair seals that could cause oil leaks, according to Reuters. Repairs will take mechanics up to 2-1/2 hours to complete.

All of the affected vehicles were manufactured last year, between February and November 2014. Models made before and after that date are not included in the recall

Daimler confirmed that necessary repairs will be completed by company dealerships free of charge to the owner.

The automaker doesn't currently have the exact figures for the number of how many vehicles worldwide were affected by the recall, according to Reuters.

MBUSA will notify all owners of the recall.

Last week Mercedes-Benz recalled 1,378 model year 2015 E250 Diesel, E250 Blue Tec 4 Matic, E350 Sedan, E350 Sedan 4 Matic, E350 Wagon 4 Matic, E400 Sedan, E400 Sedan 4 Matic, E63 Sedan, and E63 Wagon vehicles over seatbelt issues.

The vehicles were manufactured from October 8, 2014, to October 24, 2014.

Mercedes-Benz has been in the news a lot lately over the announcement that the company will move its corporate headquarters from New Jersey to Georgia.

At least 800 jobs, averaging about $78,000 in annual salary, will be moving from Montvale, N.J. to Mercedes-Benz's new Atlanta headquarters starting in July 2015.

The new facility will be in charge of distribution, customer service and marketing for Mercedes-Benz products around the U.S. The company headquarters will invest $74 million in the Atlanta area.

Mercedes-Benz hopes to launch 15 new cars in 2015 and 10 plug-in hybrids by 2017, according to a recent release issued by the automaker.
