Lenovo has recalled half a million laptop cords.

Lenovo has issued a recall for its LS-15 AC power cord, affecting laptop cords that were produced between February 2011 and December 2011. The safety campaign involves around 500,000 cords in the U.S. and 44,000 in Canada, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The power cords can overheat, an issue that has resulted in 15 reports from outside the U.S. of sparking, melting and burning; however, Lenovo is not aware of any injuries in connection with the recall.

The recalled part was sold with IdeaPad brand B-, G-, S-, U-, V- and Z-series laptop computers and Lenovo brand B-, G- and V-series laptop computers. The recalled cords are black and are marked with "LS-15" on the AC adapter end, while the manufacture date code in the format REV: 00 YYMM is on an attached label.

Amazon is launching 4K video streaming.

Following in the footsteps of Netflix, Amazon announced its new 4K video service on Tuesday, letting certain consumers who own 4K TVs view movies and TV shows in 4K, or ultra-high definition, CNET reported.

Samsung, LG, Sony and Vizio 4K TVs from the 2014 model year are compatible with the updated Amazon app, which has extra free streaming options for Prime members.

Facebook really, really wants to be Twitter.

Majorly encroaching on Twitter territory, Facebook is updating its Trending feature to highlight articles from different news outlets along with related posts from people in your network. A new Live Feed will hold a real-time commentary stream from users around the world.

The update is launching today and will first roll out for desktop and Android in the U.S., while an iOS version and support for other countries are on their way.
