Watch: Giant Semi Truck Jumps Lotus F1, Sets World Record

A giant semi-truck set a new Guinness world record recently after jumping over a speeding Lotus F1 racer.

The Lotus team is now in possession of a new world record as the F1 transporter was able to jump the longest ever truck jump at 83 feet and seven inches, according to a video released by the team.

The video was created as an advertisement for Massachusetts-based EMC technology, a cloud-based storage and security firm, who are technology partners for Lotus F1 team.

Stunt coordinator Mike Ryan called it one of his dream stunts, mainly because it was one he had never seen done accomplished successfully before.

"I've flipped them (big rigs), crashed them every which way you can; the one thing I haven't done is jump a truck and trailer," Ryan said during a behind-the-scenes interview.

The driver of the truck is also a stuntman for the "Fast and Furious" franchise and "Terminator 2," while the V8 Lotus F1 driver did stunt work for the Bourne and James Bond movie franchises, according to TopGear.com.

The record-breaking stunt took place on November 6 at Bentwaters Park, Suffolk in the United Kingdom, according to the EMC website.

The semi truck was reportedly heavily modified, and nothing flammable was left inside the cab in case the jump didn't go well.

The record is probably one that won't be matched anytime soon, although Ryan may be the only one who would be willing to try the stunt again.

The YouTube video of the truck stunt has gone viral with more than 4 million views, as of press time.
