Toyota is recalling around 423,000 older Lexus vehicles that have increased fire risk due to possible leaking fuel.

The announcement includes 2006-'11 GS, 2007-'10 LS and 2006-'11 IS models, the Associated Press reported.

No fires or injuries have been connected with the issue, the automaker has said. The recall comes after Toyota and its dealerships received six field reports and 238 warranty claims about the issue.  

In documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Toyota said that degrading sealant could allow fuel to leak while the vehicle is operating.

The automaker will begin notifying owners early next month. Initial notifications to dealerships were sent on Oct. 14, Toyota said in the NHTSA report.

For the recall, "Lexus dealers will repair the gasket seating surface of the fuel delivery pipe where the fuel pressure sensor is installed, replace the gasket with a new one, and re-install the fuel pressure sensor with the proper tightening torque," the automaker said.

Some of the recalled Lexus models were subject to a 2009 campaign to mend leaks in aluminum fuel pipes, according to the AP.
