One out of every 10 new cars sold in the U.S. was purchased in California last year. With that in mind, the Los Angeles Auto Show is arguably the most important car show in North America, and this year's was busier or more dazzling than ever.
An impressive 60 new vehicles are featured at the 2014 LA Auto show, with around half being first time reveals.
Green cars seemed to be the focus for 2014 in eco-conscious Los Angeles.
Toyota introduced its four-door Mirai, a mid-sized sedan with performance that competes with traditional internal combustion engines without using gasoline. It emits nothing but water vapor. Volkswagen is showing off a fuel-cell version of its Golf wagon at the event as well.
Lexus introduced its LF-C2 Concept this week, which had heads turning due to its unique color and expressive design. Company representatives said during the event the Lexus is a sign of the company the automaker wants to become.
Bentley's new Grand Convertible made its world debut in LA to positive reviews all around. From it's handmade interior to its 530 horsepower, people with a lot of money will want to consider this car once it's released.
Ford's new Mustang Shelby GT350, which was designed to take on the Chevrolet Z/28, was also a hit with reporters. The new Shelby employs lightweight materials in its build and delivers in excess of 500-hp.
With U.S. gas prices at a four-year low and California's economy on the rebound, this year's show also featured luxury cars. Mercedes, Audi and Porsche also debuted important introductions this week during press days that you'll want to check out.
