2014 Los Angeles Auto Show: 2016 Cadillac ATS-V Sedan and Coupe

These are a Cadillac coupe and sedan that can accomplish nearly 200 mph, and it's heading straight toward your neighborhood dealership—not the racetrack. Meet the ATS-V Sedan and ATS-V Coupe.

What are they?

The ATS-V sedan and coupe are Cadillac's first competitors in the segment dominated by the BMW M3 and Audi S4. Building on the capable platform of the ATS, the V-Series models add much sharper body work and copious power, to create a package that seems unflappably irresistible to us.

What's new or changed?

The ATS-V is a brand-new moniker for Cadillac, which started the V-Series with CTS nearly a decade ago. The ATS-V sedan and coupe both use existing architecture as their platform, which Cadillac engineers beefed up to accommodate massive performance. A 455-hp twin-turbocharged V-6 is the first of its kind in a V-Series vehicle, and the manufacturer claims that it can sprint to 60 in under four seconds and hit a top speed of 189 mph. All this, thanks to extensive work to the ATS chassis, transmission settings, and other materials.

Can I buy it?

No word on the ATS-V lineup's on-sale date, but you can bet that you'll hear it coming after production begins in spring 2015.
